This analyst position is required to support the existing Commercial Mortgage Loan Origination and Underwriting system, and to participate in the development of the successor system which will be deployed in the 1st quarter of 2005.
The analyst will be responsible for two separate workstreams: the first relates to the existing application, and the second relates to the next generation system. For the first workstream, the analyst will work closely with senior members of the front-office to define enhancements to the existing system, and to formally document those requirements for the offshore development team. The individual will then be involved in all aspects of the software development lifecycle. He or she will work closely with the development team and will perform testing of the new features. The analyst will assume responsibility for the day-to-day support of the live system, and will need to perform system diagnostics, troubleshoot the database and produce occasional one-off reports for management. The analyst will track user issues and bugs on an ongoing basis.
In the second workstream, the analyst will assume responsibility for the functional definition of the next generation system. This will require the individual to quickly grasp the functionality of the existing system, and to work with system users to improve and expand these features in the next generation system. Again, the analyst will be involved with all phases of the development lifecycle.
Competencies:
• 5+ years experience working in financial institutions
• Understanding of CMBS products, commercial mortgage underwriting and the lifecycle of commercial mortgage loan origination and securitization
• Thorough understanding of the software development lifecycle
• Highly professional with excellent communication and interpersonal skills: resource will routinely interact with Front Office personnel at the Director and MD levels
• Basic Knowledge of VB6.0/VB.NET and basic database skills
• Strong client service orientation;
• Proactive, and able to work independently and in a team environment
• Past experience with offshore development a plus
