I am planning to build an Alogirthmic Trading Engine. (i.e. software product)
Are there any open specifications? What factors should be considered?
I am new to this whole area, but would like to use my programming skills. I understand FIX protocol very well.
You may want to use Fix ATDL - to allow external clients to run and set up the Algos in your engine.
Kind Regards
John

Just curious, why do you want to build your own if there are plenty of platforms around, particularly in the open source domain where you get full source code?
Examples: MarketCetera, ActiveQuant.

Because it’s a lot of fun reinventing the wheel?
