Cameron Systems and MetaBit Partner on FIX in Japan
MetaBit Systems to be Distributor & Support Arm
for CameronFIX in Japan.
JAPAN, TOKYO, June 19, 2002 — Leading global FIX engine vendor for electronic trading, Cameron Systems, today announced a partnership agreement with MetaBit Systems to provide support and consulting services for Cameron Systems in Japan. The agreement also provides MetaBit, who specialize in equities trading solutions for the financial industry, with the rights to resell CameronFIX and embed CameronFIX into its MetaTraderTM and MetaXL products.
The CameronFIX engine, deployed since 1997, is a scalable implementation of the FIX (Financial Information eXchange) protocol that enables Straight Through Processing of securities, fixed income, futures, options, foreign exchange and other financial products. Used by large and medium size fund managers, brokers and exchanges wishing to communicate financial information via the FIX protocol, CameronFIX adheres closely to FIX standards and also supports communication with non-standard FIX connections. The CameronFIX reputation is established globally with clients including UBS Warburg, Credit Suisse First Boston, Knight Securities, Barclays Capital, Dresdner Bank and PricewaterhouseCoopers.
MetaXL, with CameronFIX embedded, revolutionizes Japan’s FIX world by allowing the user to transform Microsoft Excel into a fully fledged equities multi-broker trading application using MetaXL Business Objects which co-exist with the user’s proprietary Excel macros. In early 2003, a second generation will offer a highly specialized front end to hedge funds. MetaBit’s products promote Straight Through Processing (STP), linking institutional clients and securities companies in Japan through their equities trading software solutions. MetaXL combined with CameronFIX enables multi-broker trading and reduces transaction processing time, setting the foundation for shorter settlement cycles.
The partnership agreement with MetaBit enables all CameronFIX clients in Japan to access MetaBit’s support services, as well as their FIX-based consulting services for integration and training. MetaBit was selected to partner with Cameron Systems due to their experience with CameronFIX [currently embedded in their own products], plus their knowledge of FIX and straight through processing in Japan.
