Client Simulator Replacement

Imported from previous forum

I’ve been advised that Reuters is expected to discontinue their Client Simulator offering. I am curious as to what product(s) others are using in its place.

Hi Richard, are you looking for a replacement for the Aegis Exchange Simulator? We used to use that and replaced it with VeriFIX.

Thank you Brian. I was looking more at simulating the client side in my question, it wouldn’t surprise me if the exchange side followed. Does Verifix include an interactive order entry GUI as part of their offering? (I will attempt to check online, as well).

What other vendor or open source products beside VeriFIX are people using for FIX testing?

Yes VeriFIX does have an interactive GUI that can act as an order manager to keep state so that you can run through a multi-step trading scenario from buy or sell-side perspective. We have it hooked up with test automation tools to simulate load on our buy-side trading system.

Hi All, the developers who built the Client Simulator, including Chezky Khayyat, have formed Tradepoint Systems (trdpnt.com) and now offer Simpoint Client which is the next generation of Client Sim. It has the same ease of use Client Simulator offered and includes many new features designed esp. for algo testing.

Hi Everyone. Please also consider ETP Studio for FIX, as an excellent replacement to Aegis Client Simulator.
I work for Esprow as Marketing Manager. ETP Studio is a sophisticated enterprise application that can fully replace the Aegis Client Simulator. It provides a toolset for both regression testing and ad-hoc testing of FIX connectivity. Its Order Manager and Session Manager plugins provide simple-to-use functionality to enter and manage orders and carry out session-level testing. ETP Studio can implement both client connectivity (initiator) and exchange/market/venue simulation (acceptor). ETP Studio is used by banks, brokers, exchanges, and market data vendors widely, both in North America, EMEA, APAC.
Esprow’ support is very responsive, it covers time zones from Tokyo to New York, and the product is in active development, with frequent upgrades.
