There have been several mergers between exchanges e.g. Zurich, Basle, Geneva, Lausanne have merged in one entity, Barcelona and Madrid are forming one entity as well. Also, some sources consider Stock exchange and Options exchange as one entity, what is the reason to keep separate codes? Instrument (part of the order) already implies either option / future / equity. Is there a more current list of Reuters exchange mnemonics? Is it possible to subscribe for updates?
These and numerous others were updated in the FIX 4.2 Errata (20010501) released May 1, 2001. The FIX website’s Tech Resources, Exchange Codes was also updated with the latest list.
