FAST Template Definition Specification for FIX

Imported from previous forum

Hi all,

I am developing a swx feed handler. since it is FIX format and encoded by FAST, I am looking for the template definition used for FAST. However, I cannot find it in the spec and I find this thread http://www.fixprotocol.org/discuss/read/43dd4ec0. unfortunately, the hyper-link in that thread does not work anymore. Is there anyone knowing where I can find it?

Thank you.

Michael

Michael,

IIRC SWX provides a spec for their feed. If you want to read about the template spec format you’ll find information in the FAST 1.1 spec.

Let us know if you have any specific questions.

Thank you first,

Can you tell the file name you mention? I have a couple of specs:SWX-VCA-SPEC-CTI-301.pdf, SWX-VCA-SPEC-MDI-101_E.pdf,
SWX-VCA-SPEC-RDI-102_E.pdf, SWX-VCA-SPEC-STI-111E.pdf, SWX-VCA-ADM-CTI-304_E.pdf and SWX-VCA-CERT-STI-103_E.pdf.

If you are looking for the template file, you can ask the SWX support as well. It is available on their website and the file name should be similiar to MdiFastTemplates101_E.xml

Thanks,
Satish

Hi Michael

The template file can be found on the ‘Market Data Interface (MDI) FAST Templates’ link on https://www.swx.com/member_section/it/downloads.html
You need to have an account created first as this is exchange proprietary file. You can request an account on the above mentioned url as well.

Actually you will find lot of stuff on the above url including specs, ref data, a sample multicast receiver in java and many more.

Thanks,
Satish
