Job Description :
Based in London this is a technical and client facing position, requiring a mix of skills. As a member of the Client Connectivity team, you will be responsible for the development and integration of FIX interfaces between the bank and our external clients and vendors. Daily responsibilities include the configuration and conformance testing of new client connections, as well as the analysis needed to ensure that client-specific needs are addressed. The successful applicant will provide technical analytical skills for the systems but should also expect to spend a great deal of time speaking to external clients and working with both Sales Traders and the connectivity sales team

Department Summary
The European CCA team is part of the Global Client Connnectivity organisation. The London team will comprise approx. five people. Development of our applications takes place in New York but we also use offshore resources extensively for production support. There will also be significant contact with our counterparts in the Tokyo connectivity team, as well as the various business connectivity groups we work alongside

Essential Skills:
Good general understanding of Unix. Scripting skills (Unix or Perl) A general understanding of the FIX protocol. An appreciation of general networking issues (e.g. TCP/IP, firewalls, routers etc.) Some knowledge of Sybase or a similar DBMS (including the ability to write ad hoc sql queries). Good communication skills (since the role will be client facing). and an ability to work both within a team and independently.

Desired Skills:
Extensive FIX knowledge. Experience of Cash, portfolio or FF&O business flows and order Management systems (e.g. fidessa, EOM/Grapes/Stealth, EOS/ORC)

Degrees Required:
BSc Computer Science (or similar) 2:1 or above.
