FIXimate source code?

I’m interested in building a internal facing FIXimate with a cut down repository customised for our needs. Is the code open source? I don’t see it on the git repo with all the other projects. Have others done similar? Are there alternatives?

Thanks!
Owen .

@osingleton, the code for FIXimate has been developed over many years with the help of funds from FIX membership. The tool is free to use but not open source like Tablature is. We may make a conversion tool available to FIX members to create their own FIXimate from their own Orchestra XML file. Please understand that the continued development of FIX depends on having a sufficiently large membership to fund the activities that also non-members are benefiting from.

I know that Deutsche Börse Group is providing a FIXimate-like browser application (see for example https://www.xetra.com/xetra-en/technology/t7/system-documentation/release91 and click on “Fix Interface” in the overview to find the downloadable version of FIXimate).

FIXTradingCommunity also offers open source documentation tools:

Orchestra2doc generates HTML pages that can viewed locally or loaded on a web server. It has search by name and tag. It uses an Orchestra file as input (as will FIXimate 4).

Tablature includes md2orchestra and orchestra2md to translate bidirectionally between markdown documents and Orchestra. It supports iterative development of rules of engagement.

@osingleton We have an app that can do this. It’s not open source but it is free. Drop us a line (happytohelp@fixspec.com) for access.

Is there a tool available to generate FIXimate from a custom FIX Orchestra XML file today?

Hi Mikael,

No, but you can use Orchimate to visualise custom Orchestra XML files. See Orchestra Tools – FIX Trading Community.

Martin

Thanks. Yes, I’ve seen the online tool Orchimate, which looks nice. However, the orchestration is not public domain, and an offline viewer is required.

That’s the public hosted version, but you can deploy it internally if required.

@mikaelbrannstrom just to clarify, when you upload an orchestration (i.e. Orchestra XML file) into Orchimate, it stays in the local browser memory. Nobody else has access to it or is able to see it.
