In FIX 4.2, a new order single message with Tag#21 = 2, what is the scope of ‘broker intervention’? Can the broker only manually acknowledge the order and forward the order to exchange for execution or can the broker manually work upon the order?

Hi,

It depends on your agreement with the client. Usually the order of execution for 21=2 is

Automatic execution, if this fails, Manual Order Execution should be attempted (including forwarding to an exchange for execution).

Hi,

21=2 means broker accepts the order and forwards to exchange. the dealer can work on a 21=3 order.
