Hello All;
I am looking for Free code to implement an example
FIX Engine under Linux.
Is there any Free Code Example?
or a TEXT Book Which Details The FIX Engine
so I can Code It!
Please point me in the right direction
if you know any code repository. Or any one
willing to share their experience.
or Code.
Thank You!

I am not sure whether you are wanting to make use of an existing FIX engine, or implement your own. If you are wanting to implement your own, the FIX 4.2 specification is downloadable from this site, have at it. I will assume you already knew that and are wanting to make use of an existing free FIX engine.
Please see the earlier thread (initial message dated 12/14/2000) about an open source FIX engine. The referenced openfix.net, and the associated transacttools.net site, may be the best thing currently known (I don’t know if it is even available yet). I also am working on a free/open FIX engine for UNIX, but it is not yet in a usable state and don’t feel it will be ready in the time frame you seem to demand.
If you are willing to pay, I am sure you can acquire various POSIX- and Java-targetted FIX engines from many vendors currently.
If you review the "Vendors", "FIX Engines" section, you should find at least one free FIX engine w/o source code and a recently released Java-based "Open Source" FIX engine (B2B ITS)along with quite a few commercial libraries/engines.

As Scott Atwell pointed out, B2B ITS has released
.FIXantenna Engine, an open source FIX Engine, which is available for download at
http://fix.btobits.com.
It is the first, and still the only, open source FIX Engine currently available. The latest version 1.2.0 was recently released and includes many new features and bug fixes. B2B ITS has also formed an open source FIX Engine community development forum on the .FIXantenna site at http://fix.btobits.com/Forum.html. Developers can
collaborate and exchange information on the development of applications based on the open source FIX Engine. If you have any questions related to .FIXantenna Engine, you can post them to the forum and get answers directly from the .FIXantenna team. A CVS Repository, containing the .FIXantenna Engine development source tree, is also available on the .FIXantenna site.
