> Does this mean that FIXML is dead?
> No it doesn’t, at least not just yet. We are still planning on providing DTDs and schemas for version 4.3 when it is released next month. Beyond that, our focus will be on working within the WG10 towards these new goals. I would like to consider this more of an evolutionary direction not only for FIX/FIXML but for all protocols/standards within the industry. We also feel very strongly that this is the direction the industry wants us and needs us to move.
We recently posted both the press release and FPL’s FAQ regarding it.
Please refer to FPL’s FAQ re: ISO 15022 XML Announcement: http://www.fixprotocol.org/cgi-bin/PrintPage.cgi?file=WORKGROUPS/994459967/FPL_FAQ_re_ISO15022XML_PR_20010706.htm

The last line of the Press Release says:
"ISO 15022 XML is expected to be available by early 2002."
Achieving this will depend on a high level of input & committment from FIX, SWIFT & industry experts.
