According to new SEC regulation 203, we need a new tag for security location information, for regular sell, we need the broker info for this security, for sell short, we need to know the borrower. I was told this is an industry wide regulation. Is there anyone know that there is a proper tag for this field?

Jue, you should have a look at the Party Block introduced in FIX 4.3. One of the values for PartyRole is Locate/Lending Firm (for short-sales). There is also a PartyRole to identify the broker for the trade.
If you are using a FIX version < 4.3, then you may have to define a user defined field for the lending firm, but you can use ExecBroker for the excution broker. Hope this helps…

Jue, you should have a look at the Party Block introduced in FIX 4.3.
