Pure FX Trades

Imported from previous forum

We have messaging requirements for pure FX trades (as opposed to cross currency trading of securities). Orders and executions plus straightforward FX trades are all required, but the primary requirement is for an FX trade message format.

Has anyone adapted the protocol to cover FX trades? Has a de-facto standard arisen? Is it something that may be covered by FIX in the future?

Thanks,

Richard Wilson

Our firm, American Century Investments, (a buyside firm) has been using FIX for orderflow and allocations for F/X spots and forwards for a couple of years. There are some details in FIX 4.3’s Appendix 6 - Foreign Exchange. I will provide you more details offline as well.

Try TWIST - standards to facilitate an open dealing marketplace for foreign exchange (FX).

TWIST has successfully sought alignment with standard protocols such as FpML and SWIFT.

Hope it answers ur query.
