Could someone please suggest where one can get training on FIX protocol.

Several members of the FIX Technical Committee recently taught a 2 day course (4 parts) on FIX and FIXML. All of the presentation materials we used in the class are freely available on the FIX website within More Information, Presentations. You should find both introductory and rather advanced subjects covered there.
