Dear all,
I am a newcomer to FIX protocol and I am desperately seeking your help about QuoteID (tag no. 117).
I¡¯ve found that ¡®QuoteID¡¯ has been declared as unique identifier for quote. Now, I am wondering
if the term quote means a single quote message or
not. In other words, one party sends out quote message about the same product with the same
condition to several trading parties, then all
quotes have to have the same QuoteID or each should have unique QuoteID?
Thank your in advance.
QuoteID is the unique identifier for a single "FIX Session" between you and a specific counterparty. You coud send a Quote message to different counterparties over distinct FIX Sessions (connections) using the same QuoteID.
