A SecondaryOrderID may be appropriate addition to other message types.

Currently appears in Execution Report, Order Cancel Reject and Order Mass Cancel Reject message types.

Probably appropriate to add to Don’t Know Trade and Order Status Request messages.

Might also add to Order Cancel/Replace Request, Order Cancel Request, and Multileg Order Cancel/Replace Request message types.

If OrderID (37) is added to Cross Order Cancel/Replace and Cross Order Cancel Request message types (see per prior posting), might also consider adding SecondaryOrderID to these same messages.

Comment might be changed to "Can be used to provide secondary order id used by sell-side (broker, exchange, ECN) or sell-side executing system."

Description might be changed to "Unique secondary identifier for order as assigned by sell-side (broker, exchange, ECN) or sell-side executing system."

This has been addressed but no changes have been deemed necessary. [PC20010822_2]

Rationale:

  • SecondaryClOrdID should appear in exactly every message where a new ClOrdID is specified (buy-side). In addition, it should be allowed for in sell-side messages where the sell-side echoes back a ClOrdID
  • SecondaryExecID should appear in exactly every message containing an ExecID originated by the sell-side
  • SecondaryOrderID should be in exactly every message where a new OrderID is specified (sell-side)
