Sell-side Order Mgmt Simulation

Looking to refresh my understanding about the Sell-side simulation products available in the market. If anyone and everyone can respond so that I can get a view of the overall global experience I’d really appreciate it.

Before every “exchange” simulator vendor in the world contacts me here are my caveats…

  1. Sell-side simulation and exchange simulation are not the same thing and I’m specifically concerned about the former not the latter.

  2. The ease of use of the product to duplicate a Sell-side OMS is a critical factor. What I’d really like to know is… Is there a product that actually brings up mock Sell-side UI? Many years ago we used an actual Sell-side OMS to do this and I’ve not been able to duplicate that experience with a tool.

  3. Integration with automated testing systems is also key.

Beyond those three key areas I’d really like to hear about what differentiators drove other Buy-side firms to select one simulation product over another or were you forced to go in house to do this?
