Hello Mohannad,

In Horizon trading systems suspensions are usually triggered by exchange rules or CDS rules. As a result, in most cases a suspended order can only be resumed by market control.

On rare occassions Horizon trading workstation users suspend their own orders or orders submitted by other traders who are in the same house. In such circumstances a trader from the same house can resume that order at a later time.

However, architecturally within Horizon this occurs through a mechanism which is separate from the new order and order/cancel replace functionality. This architectural constraint prevents our Horizon FIX gateway from being able to suspend or resume an order.

However, since a resumed order is re-prioritised when it goes back into the book anyways, through the Horizon FIX gateway a user can simply cancel an order and then resubmit it at a later time. This has the same net effect as a user suspending an order and then resuming it at a later time (suspend/resume result in re-prioritising also). The only advantage for the Horizon trading workstation user is that the trader does not need to re-enter the order details.

I hope that helps.

Best regards,

Dennis
