19 June 2007 - Financial connectivity provider Transaction Network Services (TNS) is unveiling its newly enhanced suite of exchanges, available via its Secure Trading Extranet, at this year’s SIFMA Technology Management Conference and Exhibit.

TNS’ portfolio includes access to more than 20 traditional and electronic exchanges spanning four continents, helping to break down barriers to global trading. This includes connections with exchanges in countries such as United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Poland, Greece, Singapore and Thailand.

Alan Schwartz, executive vice president and general manager at TNS, said: “Fast, secure and reliable connections with exchanges are the backbone of modern electronic trading and can help financial institutions achieve a commanding position.

“Firms are operating in a rapidly evolving landscape within which dynamic and innovative organizations, who recognise the value of diversifying their trading connectivity, will have the most to gain.

“We have leveraged our extensive experience and technological proficiency delivering mission critical connectivity to provide market participants with a reliable far-reaching network. One fully-managed connection supports links with multiple trading partners in a low latency environment.

“Our network compliments existing connectivity practices, while adding the extra resilience and confidence gained from operating a varied technological infrastructure.

“Boosting the number of exchanges on our network makes TNS’ Secure Trading Extranet, in effect, an easy to access gateway to the global marketplace. This brings organizations closer and solves many traders’ connectivity headaches, by making the flow of trades, market data and messages more efficient. It is easily scaleable providing the infrastructure necessary to succeed on a global level.”

TNS’ Secure Trading Extranet connects over 1,000 financial community end-points, representing more than 450 buy and sell-side institutions, market data and software vendors, exchanges and alternative trading venues. It boasts over 120 points of presence and provides services to customers in 29 countries across America, Europe and the Asia Pacific region, with its reach extending to many more countries.

Mr Schwartz said: “We will be continuing to develop and add to our network, to ensure it is the place to be for exchanges and a vital connectivity tool which no trader can afford to be without.”

Financial institutions using TNS’ network can exchange a variety of trade-related messages, including indications of interest, order routing and trade executions, as well as receiving consolidated and real time market data.
