If an order was sent by a client to a broker and that order had to be rejected/cancelled without the client soliciting it, what mesages do I send back to the client.

It is my assumption that a execution report with a cancel order status will require OrigClOrdId values and is used in response to a Cancel request.

Do I send a reject or Done For day or …

You could generate a Reject with a Reject reason.
