Dear all:
I would like to follow up on the fact that we cannot register any new user defined fields.
Has there been any plan on rectifying this?
Reasons usually are for introducing new functionality that does not exist in the protocol with the thought of introduction into a new service pack. The interim time is very important as it gives ability to provide a solution almost immediately, where addition to the protocol takes time.
I thank you in advance for kind attention to this issue.

At the end of December 2009 the Global Technical Committee Governance Board had voted to approve the usage of tag numbers in the 20000 to 39999 range as user defined tags. These are to be used bilaterally between counterparties and they do not need to be registered.
That said, the GTC Governance would strongly encourage you to submit enhancement proposals to support what you need in the official specification, and to plan to do this prior to the need to code up something immediately.
As you are posting to the FX discussion I assume that you are looking to support new functionality in the FX space. Given that please work with the Global FX Committee to submit a proposal to the GTC.
