The WaveNo (Tag 105) attribute appears in the
FIX 4.0, 4.1 and in the earlier FIX 4.2 documentation on New Order Lists. It does not
appear in the latest FIX 4.2 or current 4.3
documentation. I am wondering if this is
a deliberate exclusion of the attribute on the
New Order List and if so why does the attribute
still exist on 4.2 & 4.3 allocation structures.
thanks in advance for any replies!
Kevin
WaveNo was removed from the New Order Lists messages in FIX 4.2. The Release Notes for FIX 4.2 dated March 1, 2000 state: "* Removed WaveNo field and feature" under "Significantly enhanced the existing List Order messages: New Order – List, List Status Request, List Status, List Cancel Request, and List Execute." WaveNo was intentionally removed during the overhaul of List (Basket/Program) trading messages.
As you identified, we missed removing WaveNo from the Allocation message and will need to address that in a future Errata.
