Where is a good place to get the status of this effort?

I am trying to find out how far along the HFT FIX spec is - is there any kind of timeline for the first release? Also are there any working documents other than this discussion group?

Thanks,
-Andy

Hi Andy, good to hear from you!

We are still editing the scope doc and we plan to put out a first skeleton requirements doc as we release the scope doc. There is no spec draft, it’s a bit too early for that.

The discussion sofar has been around encoding aspects which are important but only part of the equation. I believe that session and semantics will be the core topics of the discussion going forward. I expect these to be where we will spend most of our design and development time.

I’ve been a bit too busy with my day job and so have some of the other wg members but I hope that we will be able to move forward after the conference.

Best,
Rolf

If the goal is a widely-adopted, as-efficient-as-possible protocol for trade-related messaging, the sooner an open wiki or similar tool is launched, the better. Then, scope, requirements, proposals, etc. can be hashed out openly and quickly, around the clock. Let everyone play. Over 100 people have volunteered for this effort. I’m sure hundreds more would contribute if given the chance.
