How would I go about adding the value of R to indicate REDIBook ECN on the list of Reuters Exchange Mnemonics?
We would only add an alphabetic code if Reuters defined it. We can add others as custom codes (numeric-based). We have in fact with FIX 4.3 added all of the Nasdaq-registerd ECNs with custom codes. We assigned REDIBook a value of "47". Also note that FIX 4.3 has switched from using Reuters exchange suffix values to using ISO 10383 Market Identifier Code (MIC). The ECNs are not yet part of MIC and thus we assigned them custom values. See Appendix 6-C in Volume 6 of FIX 4.3 Draft #2.
