C++ Multithreaded communications Front office Developer wanted

A leading global investment bank located in
Stamford, Connecticut, is looking for a
talented developer to join its equity program
trading strategies research team (this is a
Front office Position). The successful
candidate will participate in the effort to bring
cutting edge technology to equity trading. The
candidate must be willing to work in a team
focused, entrepreneurial environment.

Requirements
Candidate should be a hands on developer,
with at least 3 solid years working in C++
(Visual C++ does not count). Financial
market experience is a plus but not an
absolute requirement.
Experience working on challenging
assignment in the recent past is required
(fault tolerant, multi-threaded, recovery based)
Unix programming - must be very solid.
Must be familiar with the classic Steven’s
texts, comfortable with emacs/vi, the GNU
toolchain, CVS, make.

Multithreading
Low-level understanding of threads. Should
be familiar with threading models, and the
pthreads library.
Ideal candidate would feel comfortable writing
a pthreads library.

Network programming
Must have used tcpdump, ethereal, or similar
tools. Basic grasp of multicast, socket
options, RFCs etc…

Extras: distributed computing experience,
protocol development, database development
(writing, not just using), performance analysis,
kernel development.
