We have developed a "FIX" compliant server and would like to verify that we have correctly interpreted the FIX spec. Are there any test tools available that we can use? Is there some sort of certification process that we can go through?

There is not currently a certification process, however, we are actively working to establish one. Please see the “Working Groups”, “Certification” section for more details. We would also like to encourage everyone involved in FIX to complete the online survey located there to help us better understand the community’s requirements.

CameronSystems has made a freeware Fix engine publically available which we believe to be fully 4.1 compliant.

It is available for the asking by sending an email to sales@cameronsystems.com

You might find it useful to test against.

B2B ITS (www.btobits.com)has developed a service providing a FIX testing and certification gateway. This service is currently used by a major sell-side firm that began using it from early 2Q2002. More than 40 of that firm’s initiators have been tested and certified using our service since then.
In addition to the above we are in the final testing phase of a ‘dummy’ ECN to test free-format simulated trading.
