December 22, 2003- FIX Protocol Limited (FPL) has announced that John Goeller of Lehman Brothers has been elected to the Co-Chair position of the Americas Regional Committee. He succeeds Michael O’Conor of Merrill Lynch, who has served in this post for the past 2-1/2 years. Mr. O’Conor will remain the chairman of the Global Steering Committee.
Mr. Goeller brings an extensive depth of experience to this committee as he has been in the financial services industry for over 16 years and has spent the last seven years focusing on equity connectivity and electronic trading. John has held equity connectivity and electronic trading related positions at Credit Suisse First Boston and Salomon Smith Barney and now runs U.S. Equity Connectivity for Lehman Brothers.
As a long time member of FPL, John serves on the Global FIX Technical Committee and has chaired the FIXML Working Group and currently co-chairs the Americas Technical Subcommittee. In addition, he is the original Convener and one of the founders of the ISO 15022 XML Working Group #10 also known as TC68/SC4/WG 10. WG 10 contains participants from a number of industry groups and hopes to evolve the ISO 15022 Standard to permit migration of the securities industry to a standardized use of XML.
