I’m in the search for a vendor offering a very specific FIX component:
What we need is a “gateway server”, which on the one side talks to a brokers FIX engine, on the other side provides a high level (e.g. C++, C#) API where our client software can connect to. The client software would need to, through this API, have access to current positions, open orders and place/manipulate orders. This API should be internet enabled, i.e. clients will access the gateway server from remote locations over public internet.
This will be used for an information terminal (offering real-time quotes, charts, technical analysis, etc.) with integrated trading capabilities to access a broker which has no high level API but a FIX interface.
Who is offering such software? Please contact me on dannbauer@teletrader.com, thanks.

Dear Robert,
We have some solutions that can definitely do what you are mentionning:
Our product inExConnect is a plain vanilla FIX engine that supports any version of the FIX protocol. You can send and receive orders using an API - available in C# -, this product also integrates really well into a SOA architecture using a pub/sub system.
You can also easily couple inExConnect with other of our products to achieve OMS capabilities, smart order routing, position management, risk management, …
As you are mentioning Internet in your query, I also would like to point out that we have a web trading gui - nothing to download on the local machine - which allows people to place orders over the web, this is coupled with a FIX gateway and can be connected directly to brokers/exchanges.
If you need more information feel free to contact me at rney@innerex.com or alternatively to take a look at our website: http://www.innerex.com

Richard

Robert,
Aegis Software has the AthenaGatewayServer (“AGS”) which is a scalable, high performance connectivity solution that supports high traffic volume and facilitates communication between trading partners and execution venues. A standardized API is provided for simple integration with your trading application. The AGS accepts inbound FIX messages and routes them directly to exchange destinations or to execution systems for processing.
Feel free to contact me directly at soppenheimer@aegisoft.com with any questions.

Steve O.

I think this thread belongs on the Product Discussion Forum so vendors can freely respond with descriptions of their solutions.
