Chicago: 23 October 2006 - Leading electronic trading solutions provider, Greenline Financial Technologies Inc., announced today the release of the latest version of its FIX Protocol Testing Suite, VeriFIX 4.0. VeriFIX is the most comprehensive electronic trading regression and performance testing system available in the marketplace today.

VeriFIX may be deployed in either client or server mode, making it valuable to FCMs, trading firms, ECNs, brokerage houses, and exchanges. Using the Scenario Editor in VeriFIX, QA analysts, developers, and other FIX connectivity professionals can quickly create custom test scripts to perform thread management testing, performance testing, or high-speed order injection (load) testing. No programming or scripting language experience is required to set up complex scenarios. VeriFIX can also be used for simple interactive testing with trading counterparties or internal trading systems.
The VeriFIX 4.0 release expands the product’s capabilities in many areas. The new functionality includes:
Multi-Session Routing – This release adds the ability to create and manage an automated test with control over multiple sessions at once. This allows a test to be created to run concurrent sessions, each interacting against the same market (and each other), or to route drop copy executions to a different session connection within a multi-session test.
True End-to-end Testing – VeriFIX 4.0 introduces true end-to-end testing capabilities, where a single test can initiate an order through VeriFIX to a customer system, receive that order on a simulated exchange session after it has been transformed, and respond with an execution back through the customer system, finally receiving the transformed execution message in the original VeriFIX session. The message can then be validated and compared at each point in its journey through the system.
Asynchronous Message Validation – The VeriFIX Scenario Editor can now be configured to wait for specific messages with filter criteria, independent of when they arrive into VeriFIX. This allows VeriFIX to validate messages independent of when they are received, across one or more FIX sessions.
Advanced Protocol Management – VeriFIX 4.0 contains a protocol editor that allows the user to create as many inherited versions of a standard protocol dictionary as they desire (e.g. a custom internal protocol, or a customer protocol for each client connection). In addition the VeriFIX Message Definition Editor now provides the user the ability to configure conditional validation of FIX fields built directly into the protocol definition.
Enhanced Repeating Group Support – While VeriFIX always supported repeating groups for List Orders and Allocation Messages, VeriFIX 4.0 allows the user to reference and validate individual repeating group instances when performing automated test creation and validation.
Global Variables and Database Capabilities – This release allows users to set static or dynamic run-time variables that can be used to populate FIX fields or for validation purposes. These variables may be populated from a database query or stored procedure against any JDBC compliant database.
