Is tag 48 the common way for brokers to identify a security is tag 55 the more popular method?
If 55 is more common, is there a universally accepted list of values accepted for tag 65?
Also I can think of a scenario where there can be multiple securities with the same ticker where the suffix is the same as well.

→ Using Tag 48 is better way of identifying securties because its tied up with Tag 22 which idetifies the source that is whether its RIC , SEDOL or ISIN. Not aware of list of accepted value for Tag 65 but that is just an additional information which i doubt if anyone is validating.
