Investment bank is seeking a strong Java developer for their state-of-the-art cross product electronic trading system. This role is hands-on and requires extensive design and implementation work. Extremely strong programming skills are an absolute must, as is the ability to work closely with front-office sales staff. This system is extremely complex and technically demanding, but offers the successful candidate an exceptional opportunity to work on a uniquely interesting project and directly contribute to the strategic direction of electronic trading at this premier Wall St. firm.
Strong programming skills in Java a must. C, C++ and other language programming skills a plus.
Experience with at least several of the following technologies: Sybase/SQL, JMS, WebLogic (including clustered applications), JSP, AWT/Swing, Java performance optimization, distributed computing, HTTP/HTTPS, TCP/IP and networking, threading. Experience with messaging middleware (Tibco RV, JMS, etc) a plus. Experience with market data software (Tibco, Caplin) a plus. Object oriented programming design. Knowledge of UML, design patterns, etc.
Experience building trading systems or other front-office trading applications, especially in the Fixed Income and Foreign Exchange markets would be a strong advantage. Experience with FIX a plus.
