J2EE,JDK,JBoss,JSP,SQL / Stored Procedures,FIX protocol at version 4.2 or later,2 years exposure to Equity based financial products and the process flows,n-tier design and intranet technologies,MOM, especially MQ Series.
These solutions encapsulate middleware (MQ), FIX gateways for message exchange to clients, and databases to store transaction, static, and other related information, as well as intranet based applications.
Due to the desire to provide team continuity, a long term list of requirements and the success of the team to date, there is an opportunity for an experienced developer to join the team and help implement new and improved solutions to the front office.
Java development in a FIX & MQ environment
Application System testing 2nd line support
Main Duties:-
1 Create technical specifications pertaining to required
component based processes
2 Contribute and participate in system design discussions.
Document application design and support information
3 Provide input into application feasibility with regard to
functional requirements and design viability
4 Identify appropriate coding and design techniques for
application situations.
5 Produce component based, modular, efficient code according to
team standards.
6 Input into project task estimates and ensure deliveries are
received according to plan
7 Identify system issues and take appropriate action as soon as
issues are identified
8 Correct identified bugs and release to live in a timely fashion
whilst following team testing standards.
9 Perform 2nd line support for all applications produced by the
team.
10 Report progress to line management on a weekly basis.
Skills:-
• At least 3 years Investment Banking experience
• At least 2 years exposure to Equity based financial products
and the process flows involved in trading shares on behalf of
clients.
• Excellent understanding of J2EE concepts and technology
• Several years coding experience of Java using JDK 1.3 or later
• Excellent understanding of the FIX protocol at version 4.2 or
later
• EJB’s & experience of various containers & their management
(especially SUN One Application Server and/or JBoss)
• Java Web Start / Applets
• Servlets & JSPs
• HTML & Javascript
• SQL / Stored Procedures
• The candidate must be self motivated and pro-active. They must
be able to manage their own work to comply with timescales and
scope agreed with the Project Manager.
• Excellent understanding of n-tier design and intranet
technologies
• Excellent understanding of MOM, especially MQ Series
