FIX related work: Design, Development and Support for an automated trading tool on a Unix Server. The tool makes use of FIX protocol for trading securities. Opened queues on the Unix server so as to buffer the Order Instructions sent in by Traders. Opened sockets on the Unix server so as to route these Order Instructions formatted in FIX to various ECNs, Exchanges and Execution Service Firms as well as to listen to messages formatted in FIX coming in. Logged all incoming and outgoing messages. Periodically checked the status of trade orders by monitoring the log files and troubleshooting for problems in Trade Executions and general FIX connectivity issues. Resolved any/all FIX connectivity issues by communicating with the client service
representatives. Also resolved sequence number mismatches, price conflicts and unidentified trade messages on the production side. Made use of different versions of Financial Information Exchange protocols (FIX 3.0v, FIX 4.0v, FIX 4.1v) to interface with Execution Service Firms and ECNs such as Bloomberg, Archipelago, ECI, Tom Williams, Instinet, REDI, BRUT, Brass and Salem. Also Interfaced with PSE and CBOE exchanges. Created shell scripts to extract information from the log files and the backend database in order to produce reports.
