Job Description:
Perform Sybase production database administration in a 24/6 OLTP environment with emphasis on tuning and optimizing production databases for high availability & optimum performance.
Requirements:
Ability to perform hands-on query optimization, data analysis, and database tuning.
Experience with Sybase development.
Development or execution of production migration scripts and troubleshooting of high availability environments.
Experience with data migration, data warehousing, and complex reports.
Must have worked with Sun Unix or equivalent and possesses excellent O/S scripting capabilities (Korn Shell, Perl, etc.)
Must excel in a team environment; able to work with different regions of the globe.
Very flexible and adaptable to frequent changes in priorities.
Physical Database Design and Implementation Experience.
Relational Data Modeling and Logical Database Design.
Desired Skills and Experience:
Experience with data modeling tools such as Erwin, StarSchema is a plus
Replication and log shipping experience in production environments a plus
Knowledge of financial products a plus
