Cameron Systems Releases CameronFIX 6.0 with the Universal Server
March 12, 2002 — Cameron Systems, leading vendor for FIX engines in electronic trading technology, today released CameronFIX Version 6.0 complete with the Universal Server — a highly configurable server application allowing customers a simple plug and play way to communicate using FIX protocol.
The CameronFIX Universal Server communicates easily with customers’ internal systems using their choice of technology. Standard technology adapters are now available for:
-
COM/ActiveX — connections to any Microsoft Windows applications including Visual Basic, Visual C++, Excel, and Delphi.
-
Messaging products with a Java Messaging Service interface — including Talarian SmartSockets, Tibco Rendezvous and IBM MQ Series. A native adapter is also available for Talarian SmartSockets. Native adapters for Tibco and MQ Series will soon be available.
-
Secure Sockets Layer — provides the ability to run FIX communications over secure sockets.
The CameronFIX Universal Server can simultaneously manage multiple FIX connections, multiple FIX versions and FIX dialects. Multiple client connections can run simultaneously whilst operating with different FIX versions.
CameronFIX 6.0 supports the latest version of FIX protocol — version 4.3. CameronFIX 6.0 is the fifth major release of CameronFIX by Cameron Systems since launching in 1997.
“This is the most significant release of CameronFIX to date”, said John Cameron, Chief Technology Officer, Cameron Systems. “CameronFIX 6.0 with the Universal Server will help customers with fewer IT resources to connect easily to the FIX protocol. Version 6.0 complete with the Universal Server offers a simple plug n play solution that can be quickly interfaced and configured to a customer’s existing technology”.
CameronFIX 6.0 has been in beta testing with six clients, including Singer Friedlander Investment Management (London).
“We have found CameronFIX Version 6.0 an easy way to get connected to the FIX protocol so far”, said Richard Curry, Chief Operating Officer, Singer Friedlander Investment Management, London. “We need to initiate a FIX connection from a Visual Basic application and we have found the COM/ActiveX interface a simple way to do this.”
