Contract role in Boston MA.
Boston long term contract Need FIX programmer with solid Java development skills, to integrate new FIX engines into the trading systems of a large investment management firm. Consultant needs to have strong Java API experience but Java will be used for integration and not for development from scratch. Work will not involve any database programming, although the person should have good SQL literacy (enough to extract data and run queries). Work will involve coding, maintaining, and integrating trading applications to a FIX engine that communicates with the broker communities (via either a direct connection or over FIX network communities such as NYFIX or Thomson Financial’s ATR or tradeweb). Consultant will develop modules that will support electronic placement and adjustment of trade orders, execution reports, and Indication of Interest (IOI) over FIX. These modules will be servicing both Equity and Fixed Income trading applications, as well as interacting with various smart engines and execution products provided by the brokers. Consultant needs to be a problem-solver with good analytical & programming skills. Person needs to have solid Java and XML programming skills, and must be proficient in SQL queries and PL/SQL. Past experience working with the FIX protocol is required. Knowledge of the TransactTools FIX engine and/or implementation of TCM5.0 is a plus. Good communication and analytical skills are required. This position demands the ability to multi-task in an extremely complex and fast paced environment.
