The application support group at Portware, LLC is responsible for supporting the entire portfolio of technologies that make up the Portware Trade Management Platform.

  • Provide operational support to remote production Oracle 8i/9i databases.

  • Monitor, diagnose, and tune database performance issues.

  • Aid the support group with accessing / loading information in the database.

  • Install, upgrade, patch Oracle Server.

  • Have proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL (familiarity with Java/JDBC is a plus).

  • Have proficiency in SQL*PLUS, SQL Loader, and Export and Import utilities.

  • Scripting experience (Perl, DOS, Ant, UNIX shells) a definitive plus.

  • Knowledge of multiple operating systems such as Windows 2000/XP/2003, Debian, and Solaris is important.

  • Position requires strong problem solving, analytical and interpersonal skills.

  • Demonstrated talent for multitasking effectively.

  • Must possess exceptional communication skills, an eye for detail, a problem solving perspective, and a customer-centric perspective.
