The primary responsibility for this position is to drive new sales for the firm. The successful candidate will be required to recruit and lead staff on all matters related to the sales pipeline and market positioning. Candidates must possess strong leadership and communication skills for interaction with customers (both internal and external), as well as have an extraordinary work ethic.
JOB FUNCTIONS:
This position is primarily about selling the solution to broker dealers.
Goal: manage and grow the pipeline of qualified prospects that meets or exceeds the forecast and then close! The successful candidate will be responsible for the entire sales process from lead generation through contract closing.
Manage software sales staff (currently 1 Sales Associate and growing as appropriate) and ensure that all deliverables are met on time and acceptable to internal and external customers. This will include recruiting and managing a sales team and setting and delivering on sales quotas.
Develop, articulate and drive the market positioning of the firm’s product(s).
Create and then manage to annual sales forecasts and sales departmental budget.
Collaborate closely with Product Development team to create new user requirements.
Refine sales processes / practices, and ensure their adoption by the team.
Represent the client at public events such as tradeshows and conferences.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
10+ years selling technology solutions to broker dealers with a track record of regularly exceeding sales objectives. Direct experience selling to broker dealers is required.
Experience managing sales teams is a plus, but not required. Direct experience selling into the brokerage community is more important.
Ability to run all aspects of a sales meeting from qualifying the prospect to demonstrating the software to closing the contract.
Strong communications skills with the ability to successfully interface with professionals from various departments.
Must understand the ins-and-outs of trading technology (e.g. b/s and s/s order management systems, FIX, market data, IOI networks, crossing networks, etc.)
Undergraduate degree from top-tier university and MBA are preferred, but educational credentials are secondary to a proven track record of success.
Compensation for this position includes, among other things, a base salary, equity options, variable compensation based on performance, 401K, company-paid BCBS PPO health insurance and access to premium sports tickets.
