NYFIX Introduces Certification Tool
Source: InstitutionalInvestor.com

Javelin Technologies, a wholly owned subsidiary of NYFIX, has introduced FIXertifier, a certification and automated FIX testing tool. The new product automates the certification process, which has traditionally been a labor- and time-intensive process for the buyside and the sellside. FIXertifier is available at any time and during testing, it acts as a counterparty to customers. Additionally, scripts for certifications can be customized – a feature that could be useful for the fragmented equities market where there is no one, standard certification suite, noted Ajay Kamdar, v.p. of development at NYFIX. The tool is a product of customer demand and NYFIX business strategy. FIXertifier could help NYFIX install its FIX connections and reduce its costs for certifications.

Additionally, Javelin has released new versions of FIX tools. Appia 4.0, which requires less memory, provides increased message reliability, said Kamdar. TradeScope 2.0, a monitoring product, enables customers to monitor custom FIX engines plus their own applications. The tool’s ability to segregate users and data according to business units could help large companies comply with securities regulations and reduce information leakage between units such as equities and fixed income.
