This is not a developer role. This is an opportunity within an Institutional Securities IT division in New York City. They are looking for a person who will responsible for establishing connectivity to clients and exchanges using a mixture of direct FIX connections and third party vendors. Provide pre-installation assistance for clients; from discussing connectivity and order routing options, to taking clients all the way through to first day of trading. Implementing and preparing an infrastructure to handle new products and order routing by working closely with and coordinating with vendors, exchanges and the various members of IT: developers, security, network, SA’s. This is a hands-on technical position that allows the person to gain in-depth knowledge of the equities business.
Required Skills: The candidate will need a working knowledge of UNIX & Sybase and FIX Protocols, the ability to work on multiple projects, and good communications skills. VERY STRONG PROBLEM SOLVING SKILLS. Perl is a plus!
