Putnam is looking for a high-potential individual to join its Investment Systems team. The Investment Systems Division currently has a staff of approximately 200 and develops and maintains all software applications that support the Portfolio Management, Research & Analytics, Trading, Risk Management, Compliance, Portfolio Accounting, and Custody operations of Putnam.
The project manager for electronic trading will be responsible for the design and implementation of Putnam’s electronic trading environment and STP initiatives. This position requires hands on experience with both equity and fixed income trading systems, and the FIX protocol. The candidate will be familiar with industry trends and vendor offerings, and present ideas and technology solutions to other business units. He/She will be responsible for managing technology relationships with brokers and vendors.
Initially, this position require the candidate to be very active in the business analysis, requirements gathering, and testing; with the probability of growing a team as the project progress. This position requires relevant system and business knowledge, strong analytical and communication skills, and exceptional leadership skills. The ability to multi-task in an extremely fast-paced environment, someone who is well organized with strong project management and presentation skills.
Required Background
–A Bachelor’s degree is required (an MBA is preferred) and a minimum of 5-10 years of prior related experience is also required
–Knowledge of both Equity and Fixed Income investment management business or related financial services
–Previous experience with investment and trading systems
–Previous experience designing and implementing FIX solutions
–Previous experience supporting a production FIX environment
–Knowledge of vendor products and industry trendsDesired Experience
–TradeWeb and MarketAxess trading platforms
–TransactTools, CRD, Kondor, or Latent Zero Systems
–Previous experience or understanding of DMA and/or Algorithmic Trading offerings
