Electronic Trade Support Associate/SD
Job Title: Electronic Trade Support Assoc.
Department: Software Development
Job Summary
Provide 1st level support for hundreds of users and administrators at multiple sites accessing electronic transaction processing systems and their associated client/server based applications utilized in trading a variety of financial products. The support responsibilities will be administered from the ETS desk located on the trading floor at SIG’s world headquarters.
Job Duties
Monitoring the real time status and functionality of systems.
Identifying, investigating, and resolving user and system problems in a timely and efficient manner with minimal impact on trading activity.
Ability to recognize, escalate, track, and assist in the resolution of production issues in collaboration with the proper internal and/or external organizations.
Field calls for assistance from a variety of sources including trading, technology, administration and operations personal.
Modify files, system parameters and user configurations.
Review and process log files to extract trading information.
Qualifications and Skills
Minimum 2 years experience in a support, administrative or development role.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Ability to work on multiple tasks in a fast paced environment as an individual contributor or team member.
Experience with UNIX and Windows Operating Systems as well as their basic applications such as editors and spreadsheets.
Ability to work flexible hours.
Travel is not a primary requirement of the position but will be necessary as needed.
Programming experience in high level language (C++, VisualBasic) or scripting language (PERL, UNIX shell scripts) is a definite plus.
Knowledge of financial markets, products and/or market data is a plus.
